Dicemaster is a small balatroid roguelike where your whole build lives inside a single dice. You roll it, you change it, you break it, you fix it again. Every face is a tiny piece of your strategy.

During each run you wander through a chain of fights, weird events, shops, and the boss. You pick your route, tune your dice faces, and try to survive just a little bit longer than last time.

If you like small games with one clear idea and room to experiment, I hope you will enjoy this one!

great game, just think enemies that deal zero damage should eat a stack of protection. also if the last remaining enemy(s) die to status effects the game gets stuck. Also vampire's heal is considered an attack on your self and therefor can get unfortunately blocked. Also what does the frozen thing do I can't figure it out?

fun game! It has some balancing (and i think technical?) issues, however.

Beacon makes it so you physically cannot lose 1v1s- you infinitely stun them after having drunk only 1 energy pot (which is also way too strong, being permanent.)

Sleep also doesn't seem to stack properly? after 1 turn of being sleeped, they stop being greyed out even if they have multiple stacks

I'm also not sure if the odd and even dice worked all the time, as sometimes they didnt proc despite having odd/even damage (i had both so theoretically one should have always procc'ed, but that didnt seem to be the case)(these dice were also INCREDIBLY strong, but maybe thats just cause I had a good run)

finally, the fights are... too weak. going into challenge rooms I was getting the lefty creatures alone, as well as other solo enemies that, while werent as weak, certainly didnt belong in a challenge room. I did, however, once get a first encounter of two ghosts and a wind dude- that being my first encounter, it was an immediate death, but was a very interesting team build that I think is a step in the right direction.

oh- and is there an actual endscreen yet? I beat the same boss twice and decided to end it there

Thanks a ton for the detailed feedback! And honestly, it’s really cool that you actually dug into the mechanics and took the time to break everything down like this. I really appreciate it

think I’ve finally fixed the Sleep effect not stacking or displaying correctly, so it should behave properly now. And yeah, the balance is kinda all over the place right now. New stuff keeps getting added all the time, which keeps pushing the balance around. I’m hoping to fine-tune it more based on player feedback, since I play the game way too much myself and it’s hard for me to judge the actual difficulty anymore

currently, enemy selection is totally random, which is why you sometimes get super easy waves and sometimes get very hard ones. In challenge rooms the last wave is always a pre-made tough combo on purpose and overall enemy and waves count is higher. But I definitely want enemy combinations to be more intentional and “smarter” as you progress through a run

Also, an ending is in the game now! After beating the final boss you can keep going in endless mode if you want

Thanks again for playing and for taking the time to write all this!

Ay no problem, keep up the great work!

I've attempted to make a game with the similar idea a couple months ago but failed miserably... It's so nice and refreshing to see it made by a person who knows how to turn raw ideas into something playable.

Thanks! I've been working on this for about a year and every time a new dicebuilding game came out, i worried it might have the same idea as mine. Btw i remember playing your game about 6 month ago and it felt really cool and polished. Wishing you success with new games!
